Job Summary:

Performs both routine and complex laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows established laboratory protocols and standards while taking responsibility for system controls, problem resolution, and providing instruction as needed.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree

( Not required for MTs with Health & Human Services certification granted prior to 1987 )

Minimum Work Experience:

No prior experience required

Licenses/Certifications:

Completion of a formal training program in an approved MT, MLS, or MLT program

Registered as MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or MLT (ASCP), or equivalent

Required Skills & Abilities:

Ability to compile statistics

Data entry into computer systems

Maintain accurate laboratory logs

Proficient in using CRT and diagnostic equipment
