Salary Range: $80K - $130K Permanent Position with Benefits

Greater Akron, Ohio area International Tire Manufacturer seeks an Tire Test Engineer who has experience evaluating the performance of automobiles, trucks and public transportation vehicles. The Tire Test Engineer is responsible for tire evaluation planning, scheduling, physical testing, measuring and documenting the performance characteristics of various tire designs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial and / or Quality Reliability Engineering.

The Ideal Candidates would have direct knowledge of Tire Testing Standards and Testing Procedures.

Candidates will manage the entire tire testing process. The Tire Test Engineer will collect information on the performance of each tire tested.

Candidates should be familiar with the following Tire Test Standards to include rolling resistance (RR), high speed uniformity (HSU), vibration, quasi–static characterizations, force–deflection, stiffnesses, tire-road contact shape and pressure distribution dimensions, surface geometry, force and moment, wear, and laser measurements. This information is then inputted into the database for further evaluation.

Candidates will be responsible for benchmark testing of company produced tires as well as those of the competition.

Candidates are responsible for data collection and for maintaining all test documentation results.

Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
