PrideStaff is conducting a direct hire search for an Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist for their Akron, OH client.

Position Summary
Compensation: $***** $***** per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:30 am 3:30 pm (Straight 8-hour shift with a working lunch)
Location: Near downtown Akron
The Environment This role is located in a "bullpen" style open-office environment.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a shared space with foot traffic, mild noise, and distractions while maintaining high levels of focus and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Software: Manage accounts payable and receivable using SAGE Accounting
Detail Management: Issue purchase orders, reconcile daily bank transactions, and track invoice aging.
Financial Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies and resolve issues with subcontractor invoices.
Administrative Presence: Serve as a welcoming face for visitors and mail carriers; participate in a group phone rotation to ensure every call is answered personally.
Closing Procedures: Compile month-end statements and assist with year-end rollovers.
Candidate Requirements (Must-Haves)
Experience: 2+ years of general accounting experience.
Manufacturing background is preferred but not required.
Skills: Basic familiarity with Excel and strong data entry skills where accuracy is prioritized over speed.
Environment Fit: Ability to thrive in an open-office setting with frequent interactions and movement.
Compliance: Must submit to a PrideStaff background check and a basic credit check.
