Job title: General labor Akron, OH Pay: $16/hr

Job Scope:

Will perform a wide variety of duties that are named below. Physical requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds by hand in a continuous motion. Above 40 pounds use a crane or forklift. This will also requires the ability to climb ladders, crouch, bend repetitively, twist, turn, push, pull squat, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach below knees, and lift above shoulders to complete work tasks. This individual must be able to meet all of these requirements 67%+ of the time for at least 6 to 10 hours a day.General Job description includes the following main specifications: General knowledge: Following all Company Policies set forth in the Employee manual with Special attention paid to Health and Environmental regulations along with Akron Steel Treating’s internal Housekeeping program. All Safety Policies, Rules and Procedures are to be followed completely. Blaster: Operate safely and help maintain shot-blast equipment to remove adhering sand and or formed scale to a specified finish on the parts. Material Handler: Operate the company Forklifts in a safe manner while moving materials to specific storage areas and work areas throughout the facility. Operate safely all cranes and hoist. Help maintain by reporting any problems to your supervisor and writing up on the maintenance log sheet. In addition, safely assist in loading machines, positioning work and setting up jobs. This person will also with loading load and racking parts in proper baskets under proper instruction. This can also include wiring parts by hand. This individual is responsible for a working knowledge of all company work instructions and operating procedures that may apply to them and may obtain extra copies of these instructions or policies through his/her immediate supervisor.This individual reports to the Shift Supervisor and/or Plant Manager. This individual must know and understand the company quality policy and objectives, and his/her responsibilities with upholding the quality policy. The quality objectives of this position will be to continually meet or exceed customer and company requirements and expectations by reducing rework, scrap and downtime, while maintaining profitability for the company.
