Software Developer - Expert, New York

Provide a short description of the Position: This position will be in support of the STAR/ORPTS Annual Cycle. These projects are legislatively mandated to send out rebates via check to the 2.7 million homeowners in NYS.

Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for complex projects. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include: - Help with technical DB design - Develop new COBOL modules to process rebate checks - Modify existing programs to apply user requested enhancements - Help analyze defects and incident tickets and provide solutions - Help in check creation and annual cycle processing activities and integration testing. - Developing technical design documents and program specifications. - Guiding requirements gathering sessions. - Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work. - Coding, and performing unit and integration tests of programming
