Software Developer - Expert, New York

Provide a short description of the Position: This position will provide application development and maintenance support for the Department of Taxation and Finance's Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS). This includes support of legacy applications as well as modernization development efforts.

Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: The selected candidate will assist NYS staff on all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a complex processing system. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include: • Leading the technical design for new development and system enhancements • Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups • Making changes in multiple systems to enable changes required by legislation • Implementing technical solutions • Leading requirements gathering sessions • Leading the analysis of requirements and system design work • Coding, unit and integration testing of programming assignments • Technical support of user testing efforts • Mentoring of, and knowledge transfer to less experienced staff • SQL creation and execution
