High School Science Teacher
Hugoton USD 210 is seeking a dynamic and student-centered high school science teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, rigorous instruction across multiple science courses while supporting the district's commitment to college and career readiness. This position will include teaching a variety of science courses and supporting the district's growing career pathway opportunities in health science and biotechnology.Potential teaching assignments may include: Biology Biotechnology Forensic Science Anatomy&Physiology Medical Terminology Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-based science instruction aligned with Kansas state standards. Develop hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote scientific thinking and real-world application. Support students in developing skills related to health science and biotechnology career pathways.Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth. Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and career pathway development. Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes engagement, respect, and academic success. Additional opportunities:Potential opportunity to serve as HOSA (Future Health Professionals) sponsor, supporting student leadership and participation in health science competitions and activities. Qualifications: Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate endorsement in Science (or ability to obtain Kansas licensure).Strong background in life sciences preferred. Interest or experience in biotechnology, health science, or career and technical education is beneficial. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community partners.
