Research Laboratory Technician Associate
The Department of Cell&Developmental Biology is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician Associate to assist with work involving protein biochemistry, structural biology, and quantitative in vitro assays directed at characterization of protein-protein interactions, chromatography, etc. Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, sub-cloning, DNA assembly, PAGE analysis etc.) is required. Experience in the above-mentioned techniques is highly desirable.Additional responsibilities include hazardous waste disposal, cleaning and sterilization of glassware, preparation of media and buffers, organization and maintenance of lab databases, ordering, and data entry. The candidate should possess good organizational and communication skills and should be willing to learn new procedures and methods. The ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently is essential.The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting research projects, and learn cutting edge techniques including quantitative live cell fluorescence microscopy, CRISPR/Cas9 mediated genome editing, etc. This job can serve the candidate as the ideal springboard for further graduate education.**this person will be working on preliminary data collection that will be used to apply for NSF grant funding in the near future. ** Responsibilities
Assist in driving a research project forward via bench work and data analysis. Lab management, ordering, maintaining lab databases, managing undergraduate student research assistants, preparation of crucial lab stocks (media, chemicals, buffers, etc.) Required Qualifications
High school diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 year experience is required. Bachelor's degree in Cell&Molecular Biology and laboratory experience is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills contributing to a strong team environment are required Desired Qualifications
2 years or more of experience in basic wet lab techniques including molecular biology and biochemistry. Bachelor's degree in Cell&Molecular Biology, Biophysics, etc. Background Screening
