Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: New London, WI
Job Type: FTE/Permanent
Responsibilities:
Drive and create innovative designs that prioritize customer needs.
Create drawings, bills of materials, and manage projects from concept through completion.
Provide quoting support, including scope of work development.
Act as technical support for the sales team.
Evaluate product designs in relation to material selection, cost, and reliability.
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure product manufacturability and resolve any production issues.
Follow through on field tests and contribute new ideas and processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is preferred.
Design experience, including creating drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and project management.
Design for manufacturability experience.
Experience with sheet metal and structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge of electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude.
Must Have:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
Experience: 1–3 years in design engineering.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor preferred, but SolidWorks or similar acceptable).
Experience in creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and project management.
Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM).
Hands-on experience with sheet metal, structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
Experience working with vendors and customers.
Ability to see projects through from design to manufacturing and support production.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Experience with quoting and defining project scopes.
Previous experience in field testing and process improvement.
