A research position is available for Summer 2026 in Dr. Amirfakhri's research group, with the possibility of renewal as a part-time position during the Fall and Spring semesters of 2026-2027.
Position Type:
Full-time or Part-time in the summer; part-time during academic year.
Compensation:
$15/hour Location:
Science Building, UW-Stevens Point
Responsibilities
Students will participate in laboratory research related to PFAS treatment and destruction technologies. Responsibilities may include: Research on destructive methods for PFAS removal Catalyst synthesis and characterization PFAS removal and treatment experiments Setting up and operating a continuous filtration systemAssisting with the assembly and operation of a tubular furnace Data analysis and laboratory documentation Assisting with the preparation of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
This position provides valuable hands-on research experience for students interested in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, water treatment, and laboratory research.Students may also have opportunities to present research findings at scientific conferences during the academic year.
