Job Description
Job Summary The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes within the production environment. This role develops, analyzes, and improves production processes for electronic components and assemblies to ensure product quality, yield, and operational efficiency. The Process Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, troubleshoot process issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies including PCBs, SMT, THT, reflow soldering, or cleanroom assembly processes. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement. Implement process controls and quality standards in accordance with industry standards such as
IPC, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 . Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, quality, maintenance, and production to support new product introductions (NPI). Develop work instructions, process documentation, and training materials for production personnel. Specify, evaluate, and validate new equipment, tooling, and materials to improve manufacturing processes.Conduct failure analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Support continuous improvement initiatives using
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies . Ensure compliance with ESD, RoHS, and other industry or customer-specific requirements. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field . Minimum
2 years of experience in process engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment . Strong knowledge of electronics assembly processes such as
SMT, wave soldering, AOI, and X-ray inspection . Proficiency with data analysis tools and methodologies including
SPC and DOE . Familiarity with
CAD tools, ERP/MES systems , and quality tools such as
FMEA, 8D, and control plans . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and technical documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
(Green Belt certification preferred). Experience supporting
high-volume electronics manufacturing environments . Key Competencies
Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to analyze technical data and implement process improvements.
Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams.
Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
Continuous improvement mindset. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work is performed in an electronics manufacturing facility which may include cleanroom or controlled production environments depending on the product. The role may require standing for extended periods and working near manufacturing equipment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to ESD safety protocols are required.Disclaimer
