We are looking for a Assembly Operator to operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. This position will be a contract and on-site and 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm).
This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
What You'll Do
Polish and test fiber optic cables
Assemble and package fiber optic connector components
Terminate single and multi-fiber cables
Inspect own work using quality standards and work instructions
Conduct tests as needed for particular operations
Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices
Inspect product to print
Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product
May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
General housekeeping of work area
Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies
Follow safety guidelines
Perform all other work-related duties as assigned
Read and perform tasks according to drawings
Recognize common fiber connectors
Knowledge of cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly
What You'll Need
Required:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Preferred:
Minimum one year manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with manufacturing fiber cables preferred
SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred
Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading
Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time
Must be able to operate machinery and move between work zones
