The Opportunity:

The Printing Manager is responsible for achieving and maintaining the lowest possible costs of printing operations and optimum profit levels consistent with customer requirements. The Printing Manager must be able to analyze data to determine root causes of efficiency deficits and rive change through the department to improve OEE. This position will provide leadership and guidance with the ability to influence a positive change within the department and be able to manage different levels of experience regardless of tenure. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock: In cooperation with the related process coordinators, establish priorities designed to effectively and efficiently operate the printing department activities. Oversees and directs daily press operations to ensure customer specifications and delivery dates are met to maintain quality and to ensure compliance with sales requirements and production schedules.Works closely with supervisory staff to ensure understanding of order/product specifications and priorities and to review and control operating and manning requirements and operating schedules. Assists supervisory staff in resolving and operational or production problems and in developing and maintaining a viable skills training program to ensure consistently reliable operational efficiency.Ensures that proper records of press operations and maintenance are generated in order to accurately assess operational and maintenance requirements; initiates purchase requisitions and maintenance service accordingly. Directs, reviews and controls auxiliary procedures and operations, such as off press make-ready, solvent recovery system, ink and solvent inventory and waste disposal.Actively promotes projects that enhance our Continuous Process Program and makes suggestions for related improvements. Effectively manages employee relations. Provides other assistance to the Plant Manager as requested. Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties. Ensure GMP and SQF compliance across all shifts. Willing to work flexible hours as necessary. Back-up responsibilities: May be called upon to fill in for Shift Supervisor or perform some Plant Manager duties if needed. Department level managers from any area may fill in for one another if needed.What You Need to Succeed:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience within a printing manufacturing environment to include management of a multi-shift operation. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the printing process is required. Knowledge and understanding of integration with other core processes is critical.Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are required to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Knowledge and understanding of company initiatives and processes that involve, or may impact the cutting and die-cutting operation are required. Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate and lead a team of individuals.Ability to serve as a mentor by participating in the operations related to all shifts What We Offer:
