Job Description Summary
The Electrical Systems Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives. Primary Emphasis for this position is electrical wiring and motor controls.
Duties
Key duties include development of daily lesson plans and instruction of material through lecture, online and laboratory experiments. Participates in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc. Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. Maintains expertise in subject area and recommends improvements in curriculum design. Instructs students in laboratory safety procedures.
Minimum Requirements
1. Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Systems Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or related degree; OR Electricians License
Preferred Qualifications
1. Two years of full-time or equivalent work experience in construction or the electrical trade. 2. Experience teaching at a community college, particularly with at-risk populations, diverse student backgrounds, and/or those who are incarcerated. 3. NCCER Certifications 4. OSHA Authorized Trainer5. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
