Job Title: Welder

Job Description

As a Welder, you will operate both robotic and manual MIG weld machines. You will perform quality checks using weld and attribute gauges and other measuring tools. The role involves conducting in-station repairs on defective welds using grinders and following documented procedures to perform safe and defect-free operations in creating and machining components. You will utilize lifting devices to handle heavy components weighing over 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform quality checks using weld and attribute gauges.

Conduct in-station repairs on defective welds using grinders.

Follow documented procedures to ensure safe and defect-free operations.

Use lifting devices to move heavy components exceeding 35 lbs.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in welding, specifically MIG welding.

Previous welding experience or completion of welding school, with a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Experience with production welding and welding robots is advantageous.

Additional Skills&Qualifications

Ability to pass AWS D1.1 welder qualifications during company-provided training.

Welders must pass fillet tests in 2F, 3F, and 4F positions and a limited thickness groove test in the 1G position.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial and climate-controlled manufacturing plant. It is a physically demanding job where you will be on your feet all day. The large facility operates on a shift system, with second and third shifts available. Overtime is available, and some weekend work may be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.54 - $26.44/hr.
