Minimum Qualifications
Position Summary
The postdoctoral research associate assists Dr. Ahn with activities related to the Translational Core. This includes literature reviews, assistance in message development, assistance with the virtual reality development and user testing, preparation for the annual workshop, VR Demo Day, and the VR-integrated training package, as well as other Translational Core activities, under Dr. Ahn's supervision. The postdoctoral researcher will also help develop drafts of white papers, request for proposals, and annual reports from the Translational Core. Translational science will be a key aspect of this position and the postdoc will be involved in the various translational communication efforts that arise from the CHARTER project. This may involve social media content generation, dissemination, community events, and liaison efforts with community partners. Day to day operations and management of the CACHE center space will also be required, which includes administrative duties such as IRB protocol drafting and submission, hardware maintenance, repairs, software updates, and administering demos for visitors. The position will also involve the drafting of peer-reviewed manuscripts to be presented at conferences and peer-reviewed journals in related fields.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
Ph.D. in Communication (with an emphasis in technology, video games, virtual environments), Social Psychology, Public Health, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or related discipline.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge and experience with virtual reality content development and evaluation strongly preferred.
