Sr. Power BI Developer, Georgia

Job Description:

As a Sr. Power BI Developer for the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data and analytics solutions that support an Enterprise Data Warehouse. This role requires deep technical expertise in Power BI, Informatica IDMC, and BigQuery to transform complex data into actionable insights that meet critical business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL programs for the Enterprise Data Warehouse

Analyze and transform complex source data for loading into the warehouse

Build dashboards and reports using Power BI and BigQuery

Develop and optimize Informatica IDMC mappings, sessions, and workflows

Write advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries; perform indexing and query tuning

Conduct root cause analysis and ensure data quality

Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement reporting solutions

Follow SDLC processes and adhere to project methodologies

Document solution design, configurations, test plans, and training materials

Apply data modeling techniques including star/snowflake schema and dimensional modeling

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

6–7 years of experience with Power BI, Informatica (IDMC), BigQuery, and Python

Strong expertise in designing and optimizing ETL processes using Informatica

Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with experience in performance tuning

Experience with Oracle RDBMS 19c

Solid understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts

Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows OS and version control tools

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

Experience mentoring or coaching team members

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter and PowerExchange

Knowledge of OLAP technologies and multidimensional modeling

Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools

Understanding of metadata documentation and full BI solution lifecycle

 

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
