Job Title: Azure Architect

Location(s): Atlanta, GA (Remote)

Skillset: Azure AKS, Istio, managing Windows & Linux containers, Terraform, GitHub actions

Looking for Architect who has strong knowledge of Azure AKS, Istio, managing Windows & Linux containers, Terraform

Roles & responsibilities:

Establish an Azure AKS environment through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) that supports the

following:

o Istio configured for ingress and routing

o Namespaces established to support the initial phase (V0, V1)

o Configuration to enable remote debugging for developers

o Create or update GitHub actions to facilitate deployment of containers to the designated

namespaces

o Ensure the pattern is designed to accommodate dynamic creation of namespaces by

engineering teams

• Deploy currently containerized components to the environment to validate AKS configuration

• Migrate the Java and .Net components to containers (V0):

o

• One inter-container communication proof point

o Externalize a dependent a dependent layer

o Leverage one image and configure AKS / Istio to route to the microservice & the monolith

• Remediate critical and high vulnerabilities (V2), enabling GitHub Advanced Security

• Refactor Civic Platform monolith to remove dead code (e.g., remove support of Oracle),

modernizing our tech stack and optimizing for SaaS.

• Refactor authorization processes to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)

• Establish AKS environments across DEV, Non-SLA, and SLA settings

• Implement a consistent deployment model across all environments
