Power BI Lead Developer / Architect Microsoft Fabric, Atlanta

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Lead Developer / Architect with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, enterprise BI modernization, and Power BI performance optimization. This is an excellent opportunity to lead large-scale Fabric migration initiatives while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead migration of enterprise Power BI environments from Fixed Capacity to Microsoft Fabric
Design, optimize, and maintain scalable Power BI semantic models and dashboards
Drive advanced DAX optimization and Power BI performance tuning initiatives
Optimize Vertipaq models, compression, cardinality, partitioning, and query execution plans
Implement and optimize Direct Lake architecture and Fabric-native storage solutions
Develop SQL and Python solutions for analytics, automation, and reporting
Lead offshore development teams and manage project delivery timelines
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and DevOps best practices
Conduct architecture reviews, client workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions
Support governance, deployment, release management, and production support activities

Required Skills

8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics
5+ years of hands-on Power BI development and architecture experience
3+ years of Microsoft Fabric experience, including migration projects
Expert-level knowledge of:
Power BI Semantic Models
Advanced DAX Development & Optimization
Formula Engine & Storage Engine Performance Tuning
Vertipaq Optimization & Query Performance Analysis
Direct Lake Architecture

Strong SQL development and performance tuning expertise
Strong Python programming experience
Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines
Experience leading offshore/distributed teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or Azure Certifications
Experience with enterprise-scale Power BI Premium and Fabric environments
Experience with data governance and security frameworks
Experience in Retail, Manufacturing, or Consumer Products industries
Consulting or Managed Services background

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
