The Automation&Robotics Technician supports the efficient operation of automated systems in the high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) facility through PLC programming, HMI development, automation troubleshooting, and robotic system maintenance. This role ensures that robotic cells used for part handling, spraying, and trimming operate efficiently while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing.

Required Education
Associate's degree in Automation, Mechatronics Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field 5+ years of experience in automation engineering Strong expertise in PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and industrial networks Experience in die casting or automotive manufacturing 3+ years of experience in industrial robotics programming and maintenanceExperience in HPDC or similar manufacturing environments Strong knowledge of robotic programming languages and safety standards Position Requirements
Problem-solving orientation and initiative Expertise in PLC programming Proficiency in computer applications Strong knowledge of electronics Ability to execute activities according to plans and priorities while proactively responding to variations Ability to analyze data logically and identify patterns leading to solutionsAbility to rapidly learn new skills and behaviors in changing environments Ability to identify risks proactively and implement precautionary actions Ability to identify and implement process efficiency improvements Collaboration, accountability, assertiveness, and change management competenciesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Projects Familiarity with SAP PM module Main Responsibilities of the Automation Mechatronics Technician
Develop and optimize PLC and HMI programs for HPDC processes Troubleshoot automation issues and implement system improvements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency Ensure compliance with industrial automation safety standards Provide training to maintenance teams on automation best practicesProgram, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial robots including Fanuc, ABB, and KUKA systems Optimize robotic movement and process efficiency Conduct root cause analysis for robotic failures and implement corrective actions Support installation and commissioning of new robotic cells Perform other duties as assigned
