Wastewater Supervisor - Ward, SC

Job Summary The Wastewater Supervisor controls water flows and processes through plant and biological equipment/systems. Performs tests, maintenance, etc. to ensure proper operation of all wastewater related equipment. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Ensure proper operation of the entire wastewater and air scrubber systems. Manages performance of individuals to ensure that procedures are being held to highest standards. Monitor chemical inventory and usage throughout wastewater treatment processes and order as needed. Perform monthly stormwater inspection.Perform monthly chemical inventory. Ensure compliance sampling schedule is followed. Oversee land application and ensure operators are following guidelines/procedures. Assists maintenance with projects or work in area of responsibility. Complete all records and testing required by the EPA, State and Darling Ingredients.Enter data into spreadsheets and compliance tracker. Cover shift when operators are absent. Ensure compliance with all Public Potable Water system requirements. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma required. Minimum of class D wastewater operators certification.Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience with wastewater systems. Preferred Qualifications Self-starter; self-motivated. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Good with math, computer, and oral communication skills. Must be willing to obtain wastewater certifications and update as necessary.Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in wastewater operations. Physical Demands Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing and crawling. Work Environment Job functions performed outside in all types of weather; hot and humid in plant.In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
