Duties

Help

Coordinate a variety of general maintenance related operations performed by work leaders, and journeyman level workers in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines. Direct employees within a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks in accordance with mission requirements. Assure that equal employment opportunities are practiced in accordance with regulatory and organizational policy.Establish the standard operating procedures for the branch in accordance with organizational guidance. Make visual and operational inspections of work accomplished to ensure facilities are maintained in an acceptable state of repair. Requirements

Conditions of employment

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This is a key emergency-designated, weather-essential position. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. Subject to call back after hours seven days a week.This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. A pre-employment medical examination is required prior to assignment into the position and annually thereafter. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of a(n) General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties which include: Facilitating work operations utilizing administrative authority to coordinate work operations; and Managing preventative maintenance, carpentry, the locksmith shop, and plumbing matters of assigned facilities. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
