Felony Prosecutor
This position is responsible for prosecuting felony cases in General Sessions Court. Job duties and responsibilities include: Case preparation, including taking depositions, interviewing clients, negotiating with other attorneys, and coordinating with investigators and paralegals. Case evaluation to determine the sufficiency of evidence and the type of evidence still needed.Case trial, handling a full caseload of warrants for prosecution, trying cases in General Session Court, and assisting other attorneys in prosecution. The list below is not comprehensive; this job is also responsible for other duties as assigned. Physical requirements of the job include lifting, driving, and ability to travel.Required educational background and job-related experience includes: JD and passing SC bar exam Minimum 4-5 years practicing with trial experience 14 hours CLE per year Aiken County Government offers a complete benefits package to full-time employees including health care, dental, vision, state retirement, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Part-time employees who work an average of 30 are benefit eligible.
