You enjoy leading groups and cultivating an encouraging learning environment. You apply your climbing knowledge and experience to engagingly deliver climbing class curriculum and support the participants' growth. As a Climbing Instructor, you are organized, reliable, and consistently demonstrate professionalism. You strive to continue developing your own skills and support the continued development of Mesa Rim's Instructional Programs.The What: Group and Private Classes: Climbing Instructors are responsible for leading engaging instructional group classes that support the Mesa Rim Climbing Community. Regularly teach Mesa Rim climbing classes (ex: Movement Series, Lead Series, Group Training Series) Instruct in accordance with the Mesa Rim Instructing Philosophy and ProtocolTeach participants about applicable climbing movements and techniques, safely demonstrating as needed Manage time and group dynamic effectively, adapting curriculum as needed Teach and reinforce safety and injury-prevention protocols with participants Support with training new Team Members as neededProvide assistance to fellow instructors, providing clear and direct feedback as needed Ensure equipment levels meet program needs and inform supervisor of any shortfalls Motivate participants and encourage progress Provide information about complementary or related Mesa Rim programs and resources (climbing, yoga, private instruction, pro-shop gear, setting info, youth programs, Climbing Academy, etc.)Demonstrate professional behavior and excellent customer service at all times, paying special attention to being on time and prepared for all classes Support development of the department by initiating new projects, proposing feasibility, and presenting to supervisor Support in the development of class curricula as assignedAs assigned, provide one-on-one or small-group private climbing experiences that are engaging and tailored to the client's circumstance and desired outcomes. Assess client's experience and abilities and prepare lesson curriculum accordingly Monitor client's progress and adapt curriculum as neededServe as Mesa Rim cultural example, consistently demonstrating and holding others accountable to Mesa Rim Core Values Other work-related duties as assigned Hours vary and minimums may be required according to the needs of business operations at each location. Must-Haves: Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have weekday evening availability, weekends as needed.
