Distribution Coordinator- Direct to Customer, Bel Air South

Overview:
The Distribution Coordinator position, under direction of the Distribution Supervisor and the System Planner, manages daily workflow and moves department employees to maximize efficiency and complete the assigned work for the day. This position is also responsible for closely partnering with department management to share information and ideas and develop ways to improve department effectiveness.  This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:
Receives daily strategy/direction from DC management and successfully executes that strategy for an assigned department  

Pulls and analyzes reports as needed throughout the shift  

Gauges progress of shift performance against daily goals and makes adjustments to employees’ work location as needed 

Engages in peer-to-peer coaching with other employees to reinforce good performance, positive behaviors and teamwork 

Partners with DC management on department ideas, process improvement and successful execution of the day  

Performs the duties of the Distribution Employee position when needed 

Comfortable working in multi-level picking modules and around conveyor systems 

Operates motorized and non-motorized equipment as needed (certification required for certain equipment) 

Trains and works in other departments throughout the Distribution Center 

Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment 

Contributes to a clean and safe Distribution Center 

Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule 

Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information 

Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications:
What You Bring To Us

Minimum of six months’ experience working in The Container Store Distribution Center  

Experience working in an automated distribution environment 

Knowledge of various distribution systems such as labor management system, radio frequency (RF) devices and voice picking preferred  

High school diploma or equivalent  

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner 

Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed  

Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs 

Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry  

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization 

Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week 

Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge 

Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once 

Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
