Surgery Center Administrator
Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) | Full-Time | Westminster, MD
Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Surgery Center Administrator to join our partner, a Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) in Westminster, MD. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned healthcare administrator to lead and manage all aspects of a thriving surgical center.
Lead and Optimize Surgical Center Operations
As the Surgery Center Administrator, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the facility's operating functions, processes, and staff. You will ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments.
Plan for the services provided by the facility and its operation.
Manage the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement.
Lead discussions and presentations during Monthly Operations Review calls.
Business Operations:
Implement and monitor operational processes using USPI's EDGETM system.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Develop and manage staffing, operational, and capital budgets.
Control purchasing plans and maintain compliance with group purchasing initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
Negotiate and manage external contracts.
Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and market standards.
Foster positive work relationships and act as a liaison between the facility and USPI's Home Office.
Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policy and procedure manuals.
Monitor financial performance and address cash flow issues.
Personnel Administration:
Conduct monthly staff meetings.
Manage exempt and non-exempt employees.
Review employee performance and conduct disciplinary actions.
Evaluate management performance.
Approve hiring and position changes.
Develop employee productivity analyses.
Implement job-based orientation and training.
Manage employee files and records.
Provide professional development opportunities.
Promote positive customer relations.
Clinical Services:
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting body standards.
Collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee.
Manage clinical departments and contracted services.
Monitor equipment function.
Develop and implement sales/marketing plans.
Identify and develop new services.
Foster positive public relations.
Quality Improvement:
Develop and implement a continuous quality improvement program.
Administer the infection control program.
Identify and correct quality care issues.
Develop statistical indicators for evaluation.
Serve on the Quality Improvement Committee.
Medical Staff Relationships:
Process practitioner credentialing.
Collaborate with the Medical Director on bylaws and regulations.
Promote positive medical staff relationships.
Develop systems to address physician and patient needs.
Administrative Representation:
Attend corporate administrative meetings.
Act in accordance with the facility's vision and mission.
Maintain professional memberships.
Stay current on healthcare changes.
Personal Development and Professionalism:
Identify areas for improvement.
Attend mandatory meetings and in-services.
Adhere to professional conduct and dress code policies.
Maintain confidentiality.
Communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
2+ to 5 years of experience in healthcare administration.
Management experience.
