Freight Forwarder, Baltimore

Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Planning:
Determine optimal routes, modes of transport, and carriers (trucks, ships, planes, rail).
Documentation:
Prepare and process essential paperwork like bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms.
Negotiation
: Secure competitive rates with carriers, brokers, and other service providers.
Customs Compliance
: Ensure adherence to international trade laws, licensing, and classification requirements.
Client Communication
: Provide regular updates on shipment status and act as a single point of contact.
Shipment Management
: Track cargo, arrange storage, consolidate freight, and manage inventory during transit.
Core Skills & Attributes
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Detail-oriented with a deep understanding of international trade and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
