QA Engineer (Information Technology Jobs), Irvine

We are working with a hardware/software video conferencing company in Irvine looking to bring on a QA Engineer to their growing team. This is a full-time permanent position located in Irvine. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in QA preferably with embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Develop test protocols for evaluating and validating DSP algorithms, audio software, and hardware
  
• Triage and prioritize bug reports
  
• Root cause issues and provide actionable details to fix bugs
  
• Reproduce audio issues manually
  
• Develop automation scripts to reproduce audio issues
  
• Develop regression tests and validate bug fixes
  
• Develop tools and interface with data aggregation/business intelligence infrastructure to gather incidence statistics
  
• Drive cross-functional efforts to deliver bug feedback streams to the audio team
  

Requirements

• 
  
• Strong skills in python programming, and MATLAB scripting
  
• Familiarity with or ability to learn Linux/UNIX command line utilities, bash scripting
  
• Experience with digital audio, audio DSP
  
• Ability to hear digital audio artifacts, localize and physical acoustic defects
  
• Highly detail oriented and well organized
  
• Must possess a perpetual drive for perfection to squash all the bugs
  
• Willingness to learn and use the best available software tools and infrastructure
  
• Licensed to drive passenger vehicles in the US
  

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience building an embedded digital audio project
  
• Programming experience in C/C++
  
• Programming experience in JavaScript
  
• Experience developing web applications
  
• Experience with makefile and build tools
  
• Experience with Git and cloud-based version control systems
  
• Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking / project management tools
