The principal responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer are to perform duties related to production. This candidate will conduct moderately complex tests and debug control and diagnostic systems. This candidate will undertake multidisciplinary research and works on system capabilities analysis to determine end user needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES:

• Develop software solutions to meet the needs of customers under the direction of the technical lead.
• Determine test requirements needed for the SQA team.
• Work closely with stakeholders and technical lead to see product through the entire software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical support to production manufacturing and help identify and implement solutions. Including but not limited to any company?s custom software used in production.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.
• Work closely with the hardware engineering team to integrate new devices into existing software.
• Support the sustaining engineering team with technical support and software development for existing products.
• Interact with other departments to understand and break down business requirements.
• Ensure strong commitment to on-time and quality delivery.
• Assertive and willing to escalate issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline
• Must be knowledgeable with Object Oriented Programming (C#, Java, etc.)
• Proven experience with MVVM, MVP, and MVC architecture
• Solid understanding of standard data structures
• Ability to think algorithmically
• 8+ years of experience
• Track record of ?customer first mentality? (both internal and external customers)

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with iterative development and agile methodologies
• Experience working with distributed teams
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Rackspace Cloud)
• Experience with SQL databases
• Experience with version control systems (Microsoft TFS, Git, SVN)
• Experience with embedded system programming
• Experience with serial communications (e.g. RS232)
• Experience with API development (e.g. REST, SOAP)
• Ability to analyze requirements and process workflows to find best possible solutions to problems
