The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. Consistent respect for others is the foundation for trust, collegiality and inclusion.Duties include: Performs or coordinates key functions within the Museum's Technical Security program and conducts security assessments, quality control, and training for security officers and staff. Helps identify and implement best practices and processes related to the Technical Security program to address emerging risks, threats, and crisis situations and assess and proactively identify threats and risks to the Museum, personnel, visitors, and assets.Ensures the effective operation, testing, maintenance / calibration, and inventory of Technical Security equipment and software including camera systems, the DPS network, X-Ray, Magnetometers, barrier controls, Trace machines, system software and more in multiple Museum facilities, regional offices, and Museum Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) sites (in accordance with USHMM's emergency preparedness plan).Manages and serves as the primary point of contact for the Badging Office. Performs day-to-day badging and credentialing operations to ensure employees, contractors, volunteers, fellows, interns, affiliates, and other personnel authorized to possess an identification badge have been processed in accordance with established USHMM policies. Responsible for all aspects of the USHMM ID and HSPD-12 PIV/CAC cards issuance, to include enrollment, activation, updates and distribution.Establishes and maintains security access controls and related equipment, systems, badges, keys, fobs, etc. for all Museum facilities. Performs tasks to include taking photographs, fingerprinting for USHMM identification access control card and government-issued badges, programming access cards, producing finished badges, and processing fingerprint requests. In addition, the position requires the employee to enter data into technical security computer databases related to all buildings access control systems, verification of biographical and security information, and tracking physical property assets, activating /deactivating USHMM badges, keys, radiation detectors, and other tasks related to the DPS technical services overall mission.
