Description
Kearney&Company is seeking a cleared Military and Travel Pay Specialist for an onsite role in Washington, DC at Bolling AFB-join one of the Best Places to Work and make an impact that matters! The Military and Travel Pay Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of military salaries, allowances, and travel reimbursements. This includes reviewing financial documents, applying regulations, and supporting service members with pay-related issues. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Process active duty, reserve, and retired pay transactions Calculate entitlements (basic pay, housing allowance, special pay, etc.) Handle pay adjustments, debts, and overpayments Ensure compliance with military pay regulations (e.g., DFAS policies) Travel Pay Review and process travel vouchers and reimbursement claimsVerify travel orders and receipts Calculate per diem, mileage, and lodging reimbursements Ensure compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) Customer Support Assist service members and employees with pay inquiries Explain pay policies and procedures Provide guidance on submitting proper documentationQualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college/university in a STEM discipline Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Active Secret Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship) Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with military and civilian pay systems and travel pay process and procedures Minimum of 1 year of financial management customer service experience DOD finance experience Strong understanding of Air Force financial management organizations and functions Knowledge of financial systems and spreadsheetsGood communication and customer service skills Comprehensive knowledge of Tools and Systems: Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Systems Defense Travel System (DTS) Microsoft excel and financial software KCO1701

This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
