Job Title: Senior Electrical EstimatorJob Description The Senior Electrical Estimator will support large, high-impact construction programs across multiple market sectors as part of an MEP Cost Management team. This role focuses on conceptual and early-phase estimating for electrical scopes, helping shape project budgets, influence cost decisions, and guide clients through complex scopes and evolving designs. The position offers remote flexibility within the United States, with a preference for professionals who can collaborate effectively with regional offices and project teams. Responsibilities Lead conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates for electrical and related mechanical (HVAC and process) scopes across multiple project phases. Support budget development, cost planning, feasibility studies, and value engineering to help clients make informed decisions. Perform QA/QC reviews on estimates and deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards. Plan workloads and manage tasks for estimating deliverables to meet project deadlines and client expectations. Reconcile change orders, invoices, and cost impacts with general contractors, subcontractors, and third parties. Provide post-contract cost support, including bid analysis, change management, and cost impact evaluations. Participate in risk and value management evaluations to identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation. Mentor and support estimators and estimating technicians, strengthening their technical and procedural knowledge. Develop and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, reliable cost guidance, and responsive service. Prepare client-facing reports, milestone estimates, and executive-ready summaries that clearly communicate key cost drivers and assumptions. Engage with internal stakeholders, project controls teams, and leadership to ensure alignment on scope, budget, and project objectives. Participate in peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating processes and tools. Stay informed on local market conditions, construction trends, and industry best practices, and incorporate this knowledge into estimates and advice. Support project management and construction management teams with accurate cost data throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the development and refinement of project budgets for commercial and other complex construction projects. Essential Skills 5 years of experience in electrical estimating or cost management. Strong background in conceptual estimating and early project planning. Deep technical understanding of electrical scopes, systems, and construction practices. Proven experience supporting large, complex construction projects across multiple sectors. Ability to read and interpret construction schedules, drawings, and specifications. Advanced proficiency with cost estimating methods, tools, and techniques. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort with modern estimating software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing and internal interactions. Ability to analyze incomplete or evolving design information and provide clear, defensible cost guidance. Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in MEP estimating, including electrical and mechanical (HVAC and process) scopes. Experience working as a cost consultant or in a quantity surveying or project controls capacity. Understanding of project budgets, project management, and commercial construction processes. Familiarity with construction management and estimation practices within a consulting or contractor environment. Additional Skills&Qualifications Experience in an MEP cost management or project controls consultancy is highly beneficial. background in quantity surveying or cost consulting for commercial construction projects. Exposure to large, high-impact, multi-sector construction programs. Ability to collaborate effectively with regional offices and distributed project teams in a remote setting. Comfort working within structured review processes, including peer reviews and 360-degree feedback programs. Interest in continuous learning and professional development through ongoing education platforms. Strong client relationship-building skills and a consultative mindset. Ability to contribute to feasibility studies, value engineering workshops, and risk and value management sessions. Work Environment This is a salaried, full-time position designed around a 40-hour workweek that promotes work-life balance. Job Type&Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Oswego, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $75.11/hr.
