Job Description Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a
Civil/Environmental
Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our Boca Raton, Florida office. The candidate will be involved with a wide range of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects, which can include treatment, pumping, conveyance and transmission systems. Work Setting: Hybrid Why Hazen and Sawyer:Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on"all things water." Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure– for water, wastewater, and stormwater management We foster a work environment low on bureaucracy and high in creativity We recruit talented professionals, provide them with challenging, interesting, and creative assignments, and furnish them with the tools they need to succeed We currently have over 2,000 employees in 70+ offices throughout the United States, Latin America, Canada, and the UKKey Responsibilities: This position includes leading and delivering municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities planning and design projects. Task responsibilities will include project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, equipment sizing/selection, preparation of construction documents, and support of construction
management/commissioning
needs. Field work and site visits from planning through construction and commissioning will be required. This position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role. The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our local office and firm-wide technical resources.Required Qualifications: Experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater and/or stormwater facilities Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in EnglishExcellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies Self-starter with attention to detail Strong organizational skills B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering Current PE license and the ability to obtain a PE license in Florida within six months of employment (if current PE license is from another state)Preferred Qualifications: Experience in project management What We Offer: Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans) Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportation Short and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurancePaid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO) Employer-contributed 401(k) plan and additional financial planning support Professional growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, in-house training, and incentives for professional registration and professional organization membershipsStarting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
