Job Description:
Vertex is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our Formulation Development group in Boston, MA. We are looking for a candidate with a background in parenteral formulation development and a passion for science. The Formulation Senior Research Associate will work with other scientists dedicated to clinical parenteral drug product development of an array of molecule modalities (oligonucleotide, small molecule, etc.). 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Design, plan, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments related to parenteral formulation development such as formulation screening, characterization, stability studies, forced degradation, compatibility studies, and process development with minimal supervision 

Maintain an accurate and complete laboratory notebook capturing protocols, results, and observations 

Present experimental outcomes in group and project team meetings 

Conduct literature reviews related to project topics 

General Parenteral Formulation Lab support 

 

Knowledge and Skills: 

Hands on experience with parenteral formulation techniques such as formulation preparation and aseptic handling 

Basic understanding of pharmaceutical principles in the design and development of parenteral drug products 

Familiarity with characterization techniques such as UV-Vis Spectroscopy, subvisible particle analysis, and chromatography 

Ability to use technical knowledge to design and execute follow-up experiments and troubleshoot 

Highly skilled at multitasking 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

 

Education and Experience: 

Master's Degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials sciences or related field and 0-2 years relevant employment experience, or 

Bachelor's Degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials sciences or related field and 4 years relevant employment experience 

 

Pay Range:
$40-$45/hr
