Managing the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of tax accountants and professionals, delegating tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring timely completion of work.
Developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings, and advising on the tax implications of business decisions.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, serving as a point of contact for tax-related inquiries, and providing exceptional client service.
Staying up-to-date on current tax laws and regulations, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
Providing support during tax audits, preparing necessary documentation, and representing clients in interactions with tax authorities.
Contributing to the growth of the firm by identifying opportunities for new business and cross-selling other services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or EA is a must
7+ yearsin tax at public accounting firm(s)
Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles, proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx), and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Leads by example exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment
Strong organizational & analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Client service oriented
Demonstrates the ability and willingness to properly delegate and manage workload and train others on the proper delegation and management of work
Aptitude to learn and effectively use multiple software applications
Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with a team
