Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform surveillance exams and that may include but is not limited to hearing conservation, respirator, ERT, thermal stress, etc.
  • Surveillance exams shall be tracked for completion and closed to maintain compliance.
  • The medical assistant is required to be able to operate all equipment and perform any testing needed.
  • They will assist with case management by scheduling employees, tracking cases, documenting employee interactions, assist medical care, and communicating with outside providers for clinic specific needs.
  • The medical assistant shall work in collaboration with the medical providers onsite for all medical case management.
  • Rooming and preparing patients to be seen which may include vital signs, provide immunizations, phlebotomy, drug/alcohol testing, COVID testing, ear irrigation, glucose testing, administering EKGs/PFT/Titmus/Audiometer as directed by onsite provider.
  • All employee interactions that are medically related shall be documented in the EMR.
  • Assist with immunization clinics, health fairs, blood drives, and other wellness events onsite.
  • Attend all site and corporates required meetings and training.
  • Support medical colleagues with difficult cases. Package and arrange waste pick up.
  • Assist provider with any medical care and this may include emergencies and medical treatments (therapy/oxygen/nebulizers).
  • Schedule medical appointments, answer/respond to telephone calls and medical request.
  • The medical assistant is responsible for scheduling, tracking, and understanding the components for surveillance/employment exams within the scope of their training.
  • Arrange meetings as directed by the medical team. Scan/Fax/Copy/Ship/Email/Prepare documentation.
  • Documentation may be needed from outside providers/employees/other parties, and the medical assistant will facilitate receiving the documentation.
  • Documentation will need to be uploaded into the EMR as directed. Understanding and preparing records for storage and retrieval in Iron Mountain.
  • Obtain and maintain access to vendor accounts (Concentra/TK/Medtox/Pivot/Quest/Sedgwick/Cority) including local required reporting facilities.
  • The medical assistant will be responsible for maintain the clinic supplies (ordering, checking expiration dates, etc.), equipment (monthly testing- Eye wash/safety shower/AED/ Fire Extinguisher), QC testing, calibrations, temperature monitoring, etc.), and clinic licensing.
  • Complete iLearn trainings with deadlines as assigned.
  • Clear, timely, respectful, and professional communication is expected with employees, supervisors, clinicians (internal & external) & other partners.
  • Have working knowledge of our Corporate Benefits and provide employee with contact information as requested (Accolade, Hinge, EAP, Carrot, etc.).
  • Monitor disability & restriction claim times. Responsible for paying outside vendors invoices, billing back charges, and completing expense reports.

  • MA – required
  • BLS – required
  • CAOHC – preferred
  • BAT Trained – preferred
  • NIOSH – preferred
  • 5 years of experience is preferred On call responsibility
