Job Summary:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Senior manager of Public Health nursing is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple programs within the performance management/clinical linkage department at Cherokee Nation Public Health. This role involves developing and implementing program strategies, managing program budgets, timelines, and resources, and ensuring all program activities align with the organization's goals. The senior manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of programs and services.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage multiple programs simultaneously
Develop and implement program strategies that align with organizational goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery
Monitor program progress and performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure success
Manage program budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
Identify and mitigate program risks and issues
Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on program status
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices within program management
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment
Analyze data to evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of population-based health services and resources
Liaises with other local organizations such as coalitions, health departments, health care delivery organizations and/or schools to promote the health of the population
Promote and support the development of programs, policies and services that provide interventions that improve the health status of populations
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Performs under minimal supervision
Management of subordinate supervisors
Responsible for overall management, coordination, and evaluation of these programs
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Addressing complaints and resolving problems
Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
Set goals and decide areas of responsibility
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred
4-6 years of nursing experience
COMPETENCIES
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong leadership and communication skills
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Attentiveness
Interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Public Health Competency skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Registered Nurse (RN) License from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Valid Driver’s License
Motor Vehicle Report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
