MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience - One (1) year relevant experience.
Licenses&Certification - Completion of a Secretarial Training Program or related education is preferred.
Knowledge&Skills - Serves as assistant to all BHSAS program staff and provides support to all staff as directed. Ability to learn the procedures, formats and protocols of the Health System. Knowledge of personal computers and their applications in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Ability to maintain a confident and professional demeanor, communicate courteously and effectively with executive-level staff as well as the public, both orally and in writing. Process daily billing reports from BHSAS as requested to reduce billing errors. Process payment denials returned to BHSAS programs for and refilling of rebilling as a to third party insurance.Ability to meet assignment deadlines and interpret established policies and procedures. Skill and ability to file, organize and retrieve data and information. Must possess strong organizational skills. Knowledge of third party billing systems and how they relate to tribal organizations. Ability to collect, evaluate and organize documents in order to facilitate their movement throughout the system from requisition to payment.Knowledge of medical records guidelines and procedures and their interrelationships with the third party billing system. Skills in the operation of personal computers and software applications in Windows and other software specific to third-party billing. Verify patients' insurance eligibility. JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the position is to provide administrative, secretarial, clerical, and billing support to all BH/SAS providers and BH/SAS programs to achieve the goals, objectives and operations of the Health System.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office setting and may require occasional travel. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is mostly sedentary requiring filing, but at times requires some lifting, driving and the operation of office equipment. Ability to handle adverse situations is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following: Serves as assistant to all BH/SAS program staff and provides support to all staff as directed. Prepares and types reports, memoranda and correspondence from written drafts, verbal instructions or dictation in accordance with format and style. Responsible for correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.Maintains schedule/appointment book for all BH/SAS providers. Works closely with Contract Health, and BH/SAS Providers to assure that all appointment and billing deadlines are met. Also assists in preparing reports as needed. Process daily billing reports from BH/SAS as requested to reduce billing errors.Process payment denials returned to BH/SAS programs for follow-up and refilling of rebilling as appropriate to third party or patient. Apply knowledge regarding billing rules, laws and business policies of third-party payers. Regular attendance is required. Performs other duties as required and assigned.
