Job Summary | The Sort Farm Operator is responsible for efficiently organizing and moving glass from the Cutting department to the IG Lines. Essential Functions | Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines Operate High Tech Glass Fabrication Equipment Ensure open communication with the manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floorCapability to utilize and acquire knowledge of various software applications Transport racks using rider pallet jack when necessary Perform handloads by manually loading and moving glass when necessary Occasionally remove faulty glass from racks Examine several predicting variables and software, then set up the instruments required to sort the glass.Maintains continuous communication with various departments to ensure proper schedules are completed Ability to multitask to ensure that glass is sorted effectively Safely operate the RICO Power Industrial Truck when needed Inspect empty and loaded racks properly Assist in AGV operations to facilitate the needs of Sort Farms, Cut tables, and furnaces when necessaryEnsure AGV's are performing at an optimal level, communicate to various departments for downtime associated with AGV's Assist farm operators in the movement of racks throughout the plant as needed Perform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work area Assist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectivesAbility to work in a team environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines Requires regular in-person attendanceWorkplace Environment | Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects Noise levels can be high and will vary based on the location in the plant Qualifications | Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred Ability to demonstrate experience using strategic thinking or analytical skillsMust be 18 years or older High School Diploma or GED preferred A minimum of 2 years' experience utilizing power equipment Physical Demands | Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs Climbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch What We Offer |Rewarding Monthly Profit-Sharing Plan/401K Generous Employee Referral Program ($$$ paid for your recruiting efforts) Cross-training and growth advancement opportunities Medical/Dental/Vision Plan Life and Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Paid Time Off- 9 Paid Holidays Safety Shoes/Glasses AllowanceWork-life balance- various shifts available Climate-controlled facility and covered parking Shift&Pay | Shift: 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM Pay: $18.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential= $19.00/hour Bonus - Potential Monthly Profit Sharing Cardinal Glass is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion, and connectedness.
