Mini Kabob is seeking disciplined, hardworking line / prep cooks to join our team.

We are a family-owned Armenian restaurant established in 1987 and recognized by the LA Times Top 101, New York Times Top 50, and Michelin Guide. We are known for open-fire grilled meats, scratch-made recipes, high-quality ingredients, and operating at an extremely high level inside a small, fast-moving kitchen.

This is a hands-on position for individuals who take pride in their work, move with urgency, maintain high standards, and enjoy being part of a focused, team-oriented environment.

Our kitchen is small, busy, and physically demanding. The right candidate is dependable, organized, coachable, and able to perform consistently during high-volume service.

Responsibilities

Execute line and prep responsibilities with speed, consistency, and attention to detail

Prepare proteins, vegetables, sauces, marinades, and other ingredients according to established standards

Support grill, prep, and production operations

Maintain station cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout service

Follow recipes, portioning standards, and quality control procedures

Assist with opening and closing duties

Support catering production and large-order preparation when needed

Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Contribute to a positive, respectful, team-oriented culture

Qualifications

Previous restaurant, line cook, prep cook, grill cook, or kitchen experience preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail

Ability to follow direction and execute consistently

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment

Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

Kabob, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, or high-volume grill experience is a plus

Position Details

Full-time positions available

Thursday–Sunday schedule (restaurant closed Monday–Wednesday)

Typical shift: 9:30 AM– approximately 6:00 PM

Paid time off

401(k) with company match

Compensation

Base wage: $16.50/hr with guaranteed total earnings: approximately

$22–24/hr with tip makeup , depending on experience, performance, and position tier
