Veterinary Assistant, California

Who we are::
Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital is looking to add a friendly and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team. 

 

This position plays an integral role in providing excellent care to our patients as well as providing outstanding customer service to our clients. Our ideal candidate is a team player with a big heart and a love of animals who is organized, hard-working and demonstrates initiative, with at least one year of previous experience in a veterinary hospital. 

 

This is a full-time position, ~32 hours / week 

 

We are looking for someone who possesses: 

Compassion for animals & their owners 

Team member skills 

Attention to detail 

A positive, calm & helpful attitude 

Client care experience 

One year + of veterinary clinic experience 

The ability to take lift up to 40lbs 

Willingness to be exposed to pet-related issues, such as zoonotic diseases, fractious animals, noises and animal waste 

 The ideal candidate is comfortable with their ability in: Dog & cat restraint 

Venipuncture 

Familiarity with veterinary knowledge, pharmacology and protocols 

Digital radiography 

Running in-house lab work (ideally Idexx) 

Using veterinary software (ideally Avimark)
