Head Girls Soccer, Assistant Girls Soccer, Head Cross Country, Assistant Cross Country, Head Boys Soccer, Assistant Boys Soccer, Head Track and Field, Assistant Girls Basketball Qualifications: Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sportSubstantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport for head coaches Role model for student athletes Reports To: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals Supervises: High school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principalJob Goal: Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for individual and team success Instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in student athletes Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.General: Athletic programs influence the community's image of the entire system Public exposure is a considerable responsibility and community/parent pressure for winning performance is taxing, but must not override the objectives of good sportsmanship and good mental health Position includes extended time, risk injury factor, and due process predicamentsCoaches shall exercise common sense and good judgment in cases not specifically covered Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge of athletic policies and their implementation Knowledge of system, state, and league regulations Understanding of the proper administrative line of command Staff responsibilities including philosophy, skills, techniques, training, and evaluationAdministrative duties such as scheduling, transportation, and preparation for events Student responsibilities including mentorship, attention to grades and conduct, and safeguarding Finance and equipment responsibilities including budgeting, equipment management, and maintenance Public relations including organizing meetings, promoting the sport, and maintaining good relations with media and stakeholders
