Police Sergeant

The Gila River Indian Community is seeking a Police Sergeant. This full-time position is with the Gila River Police Department in Sacaton, AZ. The salary range is $41.75 - $58.20 hourly. The Police Sergeant supervises the day-to-day activities of Police Officers and/or Detectives within an assigned district on an assigned shift or performs responsible staff functions at headquarters; manages schedules and approves leave request and time sheets; maintains statistical data in reference to crime rates; and participates in the more difficult police and investigative issues and instructs subordinates in the methods to be followed. Assumes responsibility for assigned special programs, projects, or department-wide functions or activities; coordinates activities with other agencies; and performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Work is performed in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and general orders received from a Police Lieutenant, Police Commander, or Chief of Police and is reviewed through observation of results and evaluation of reports submitted.The Gila River Indian Community offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes; vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision, life, short and long term disability benefits.
