Purpose Statement The job of Teacher is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. This job reports to Principal.

Essential Functions Meets and instructs assigned classes in building and at the times performs in other buildings. Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives of students.Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Arranges and sets up classrooms. Maintains inventory of instruments and equipment.Plans and directs performances. Coordinates schedules with building staff. Travels between buildings when needed.

Education:

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Certificates and Licenses Wyoming PTSB Teaching Certification for K-8 Music

*Must be eligible for Wyoming teaching certificate endorsed in Music.
