Plant Assistant Operator, Danville

Position Description Title: Plant Assistant Operator Department: Operations Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Supervisor Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Purpose: Assists in operation of the Cast Line Principle Accountabilities Assists with the safe, controlled start-up and operation of machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and managing the changeover process. Assists in inspecting and measuring completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards. Assists in monitoring and adjusting controls to ensure product complies with production standards. Assists in maintaining equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required. Assists in recording quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines as necessary. Performs all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills. Additional tasks as requested by management, supervisor and/or lead Essential Skills and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary. 2 years in manufacturing environment preferred. General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork. Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required. Ability to regularly lift large lightweight items above head and lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis. Ability to work in limited workspace area on consistent basis. Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
