As the Shop Assistant, you will support the business in the day-to-day running of the tool room and shop, supplying the necessary equipment and materials.

You Are:

* EXPERIENCED: Able to read and understand shipping/receiving documents and maintain accurate inventory control records; prior experience and ability to operate a forklift * KNOWLEDGEABLE: Able to read and use a tape measure to measure and cut materials to specific measurements * ORGANIZED: Able to prioritize and follow up to manage multiple projects and deadlines* FLEXIBLE: Possess a valid driver's license with a clear driving record; able to travel to job sites as required

What you'll do:

* MANAGE: Assist in the shipping, receiving, handling and storing, and delivering of equipment, materials and supplies * HANDLE: Lift inventory, bend and stoop to stock, carry and move materials, and load and unload trucks * DOCUMENT: Maintain inventory control and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness to minimize stock loss* PUT SAFETY FIRST: Demonstrate understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices, both in the shop and on job sites * BUILD RELATIONSHIPS: Maintain good relationships and communicate with superintendents/foremen regarding their needs on job sites
