Monitoring Tools Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Monitoring Tools Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ, Jacksonville, FL, or Pennington, NJ. This is a 10+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking an experienced Monitoring Tools Engineer to support and enhance enterprise-wide monitoring platforms. This role focuses on improving monitoring and operational readiness by implementing accurate thresholds, alerts, and dashboards using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technical resource to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent incidents from reaching production.Responsibilities:

Implement and manage Dynatrace and Splunk monitoring across a large portfolio of applications Implement and manage Dynatrace Synthetic Monitoring Design, configure, and optimize monitoring events, alerts, dashboards, and thresholds Partner with Production Support and Engineering teams to maximize the value of monitoring toolsProvide guidance to application teams on instrumentation and monitoring strategy Lead demos, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums to drive adoption Develop supporting documentation and training materials Ensure monitoring supports effective incident management and operational processesWork a weekend 2nd shift on East Coast hours, including Friday and Saturday Requirements:

3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Dynatrace components 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Splunk components 2+ years in a production systems engineering and/or support role Experience with operational scripting and process improvement Strong understanding of application architecture, databases, networking, and system interdependenciesKnowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, and shell scripts Experience with both Unix and Windows operating systems Familiarity with IT operations processes (e.g., ITIL) Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDesired Skills:

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) or similar Background as a Systems Administrator (SA), DBA, or Middleware Engineer Experience with SiteScope, Catchpoint, and AppDynamics Experience supporting enterprise-scale, globally distributed environments General knowledge of large-scale data sets, DNS, BIND, IPsec VPNs, and NATKnowledge of Windows Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, or vSphere PowerCLI Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
