Structural Section Head | Civil Site Engineer, South Carolina

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Site Civil Engineer to lead and expand our civil site practice in the Charleston, SC office. This leadership role demands a dynamic professional with a strong track record in business development, staff management, and project delivery.

The ideal candidate will shape the strategic direction of the site civil group, cultivate client relationships, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure the financial success of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing multidisciplinary teams and overseeing site development design and permitting.

Mentoring junior staff, ensuring professional growth and technical excellence.

Upholding high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Leveraging local market knowledge to expand our presence in the Lowcountry region.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategic growth plans in collaboration with office managers and practice leaders.

Expand market presence through marketing and business development initiatives.

Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.

Lead and contribute to the development of proposals.

Provide technical expertise to project managers and engineering teams.

Assess resource and staffing needs for the department.

Conduct interviews and hire staff as required.

Perform performance reviews, incorporating feedback from project managers.

Guide and manage team members through effective leadership, goal setting, coaching, and continuous performance management.

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

Professional Engineer (PE) License or equivalent.

10+ years of experience in site civil engineering.

Expertise in project management and business development.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
