We are looking for an Assembly Operator V to support optical connector and cable assembly processes, assist in training team members, and contribute to process development and continuous improvement efforts. This position will
be Full-Time, On-Site , and is a contract .
What You'll Do
- Polish and test fiber optic cables
- Assemble and package fiber optic connector components
- Operate fiber router and complete over-molding process (as needed)
- Support prototype product builds, test product builds, and pre-release NPI builds (as needed)
- Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment
- Terminate various standard fiber optic termini and new termini designs
- Perform advanced testing and validation using fiber optic and electronic test equipment, such as Optical Power Meters, IL/RL Test, Oscilloscope, DMM, Variable Power Supplies, and Variable Attenuators
- Train new and existing team members on products, processes, and procedures
- Assist engineering with new product launch manufacturing processes
- Identify process changes to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs
- Maintain housekeeping and organization of the work area, following safety guidelines and company policies
What You'll Need
Required:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in fiber optic manufacturing
- Proficient dexterity and motor skills for intricate/delicate work
- Must be able to work with small parts in a clean room environment, using a microscope
- Experience using electronic testing equipment such as Oscilloscope, DMM, and Variable Power Supplies
- Excel skills to record, organize, and analyze data
- Must have good time management skills to work on numerous projects simultaneously
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
- Must be able to move between work zones
- Proficient in understanding and following written instructions in English
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading
- Experience with advanced testing and validation processes for fiber optic products
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively in collaborative environments
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing all required clean room gowning garments and PPE (gowns, shoe booties, hair nets, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes).
- Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sedentary work that involves remaining stationary for 75% of the time, with occasional movement between work zones.

$30.80 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
