Lockport Rehab and Health Care Center - Lockport Rehab and Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating residents with communication and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities: - Conduct resident assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders - Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care - Educate residents and their families on communication strategies and techniques - Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records - Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology Requirements: - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program - Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology - Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and neurology related to speech, language, and swallowing disorders - Experience working in acute care settings, such as hospitals or intensive care units (ICUs) - Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices - Strong case management skills to effectively coordinate patient care - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Dedication to providing high-quality patient care Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and requirements.
